New Yorker magazine suggests 100 Essential Jazz Albums. I have two, but I'm not really starting that collection until I'm 30.

Jeff Weiss contends that Islands have an "ability to absorb a tapestry of styles without ever approaching imitation", provides a couple of mp3s, and works up the hype for next week's album drop.

Werner Herzog is remaking (?!) Bad Lieutenant (?!?!) with Nicolas Cage (?!?!?!). Yeah.

You guys, I want a pet anteater.

Bun B - "Swang On 'Em" (f. lupe fiasco)

No Age - "Eraser"

Jazz absolutely intimidates me. I find the idea fascinating, but I don't think I have the attention span to listen to it and really get anything out of the experience. Really, there's just so damn much of it, it's hard to know where to start.

Miles Davis' In a Silent Way is my very favorite jazz album, for what it's worth.
